Frequently Asked Questions
30 straight answers on how our mobile service works, what things cost and what happens if a job needs a workshop.
About the service
What is a mobile mechanic?+
A mobile mechanic brings the workshop to you. We arrive fully equipped with dealer-level diagnostics, air and hydraulic tooling and common parts, and complete the work on your driveway, at your workplace or at the roadside. There is no drop-off, no waiting room and no courtesy car needed.
Which areas do you cover?+
We primarily serve West London, Berkshire and Surrey, however we also cover surrounding areas for larger jobs. We are a fully mobile service — just message us with your vehicle and postcode and we will get you booked in.
Are you insured?+
Yes. Fazeli's Car Services carries full public liability and motor trade insurance covering your vehicle while we work on it and while it is in transit during recovery.
What are your opening hours?+
We operate seven days a week. Mobile work is typically 7am to 9pm, and our vehicle recovery service runs 24 hours a day.
Do you work on all makes and models?+
Yes. We work on all major makes including BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Ford, Vauxhall, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Land Rover, Mini, Peugeot, Renault and more, plus vans and light commercials.
Can you work on hybrid and electric vehicles?+
We service and repair hybrids, and carry out non-high-voltage work on EVs such as brakes, suspension, tyres, air conditioning and diagnostics.
Booking & pricing
How do I get a quote?+
Send us a WhatsApp message with your vehicle registration, postcode, vehicle details and a description of the issue. You will normally receive a fixed quotation the same day.
Are your prices fixed?+
Yes. Once we have seen the registration and the fault we give you a fixed quotation. If we find anything additional we stop, explain it and get your approval before continuing.
Do your prices include parts?+
The prices shown are labour. Parts are priced separately because they vary considerably by make and model, and they are always confirmed in your quotation before work begins.
How do I pay?+
Card, bank transfer or cash on completion. We invoice trade and fleet customers.
Why are you cheaper than a main dealer?+
We have no showroom, no service reception and no dealership overheads. You are paying for the technician's time and the parts, not the building.
How far in advance should I book?+
For servicing and planned repairs, a few days ahead secures the slot you want. For breakdowns, batteries, tyres and recovery, contact us straight away — we handle same-day work every day.
On the day
What do you need from me on the day?+
Safe, legal access to the vehicle and roughly two metres of clear space around it. We are fully self-sufficient and do not need your power or water.
Do I need to be there?+
Not for the whole job. We just need access to the car and keys, and a phone number to reach you on for approvals.
Can you work on a public road?+
Yes, where it is safe and legal to do so. We work within controlled parking zones across West London every day.
What happens if it rains?+
We use covered working equipment for most jobs. In severe weather we will offer to recover the vehicle to our workshop at no extra inconvenience to you.
What if the job is bigger than expected?+
We stop, photograph the issue, explain it and quote before continuing. Nothing is carried out without your approval.
Do you offer a warranty?+
Yes. All parts we supply carry the manufacturer's warranty and our labour is guaranteed. Keep your invoice as proof of work.
Servicing & MOT
Will using you affect my manufacturer warranty?+
No. Under EU Block Exemption Regulation you can have your car serviced by any competent garage as long as the manufacturer's schedule is followed and correct-specification parts are used — exactly what we do, and we stamp your book.
How often should I service my car?+
Most petrol cars every 12 months or 10,000 miles, most diesels every 12 months or 12,000 miles. Short urban journeys wear oil faster, so service sooner if that describes your driving.
Can you do an MOT?+
MOT testing must be done at an approved test centre, but we carry out full pre-MOT checks and all the repair work needed to pass, and can arrange the test for you.
What is the difference between Oil, Full and Major servicing?+
An Oil Service covers engine oil and filter. A Full Service adds air filter, cabin filter, fluid top-ups and a health check. A Major Service adds front and rear brake pads, coolant flush and engine flush on top of the Full Service.
Diagnostics & repairs
My engine light is on — is it safe to drive?+
A steady light usually means drive gently and get it checked promptly. A flashing light means stop as soon as it is safe, as it indicates a misfire that can destroy the catalytic converter. Call us either way.
Why pay for diagnostics when a code reader is cheap?+
A code tells you where a fault was recorded, not why. Dealer-level equipment plus live data and physical pinpoint testing is what stops you replacing parts on a guess and paying twice.
Is the diagnostic fee refundable?+
If you go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee comes off the final invoice.
Do you use genuine parts?+
We use genuine or OEM-quality parts as standard. If you prefer genuine main dealer parts we will source them, and we will always tell you which is being quoted.
Recovery
How quickly can you recover my car?+
Within West London we typically arrive within 45 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. Recovery operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Can you recover a car with no keys or a seized engine?+
Yes. We carry skates, straps and winching equipment for non-runners, seized engines and accident-damaged vehicles.
Remapping
Will a remap damage my engine?+
Not when it is done properly. We health-check the engine first and stay within safe torque limits for the clutch, gearbox and turbo. Your original file is backed up and can be reinstated at any time.
Do I have to tell my insurer about a remap?+
Yes. A remap is a modification and must be declared. Most insurers accept it, sometimes with a small premium adjustment.
Still got a question?
Send your registration, postcode and a quick description — most quotes come back the same day. Please pre-book to avoid disappointment; emergency call-outs are also available.
